Thumbs down How long should headlamps last?

I won at a raffle a set of Nokya bulbs for my Lancer in late Jan, and one of them burned out yesterday. Are they supposed to last less than a year? Any suggestions on better brands? I didn't like the blueish color anyway, but am hoping my next set lasts more than 9 months.

Or $50 on the Silverstars...

I'll bring the Koba's along on Friday....or Thursday...

I had the Koba's since March til last month after I got the HID's...
They are okay for brightness and good for the color.

I had a set of PIAA Xtremes and one burnt out on me after about a year. For $100, those *****es better last longer than that.

My stock bulbs are coming up on 2 years... 50,000 miles... most of which was night or evening driving. I'm not overly pleased with the stock look or color, but I never replaced them due to longevity issues. (and a distinct lack of $ in my wallet every time I saw the bulbs )

you shouldn't really expect those aftermarket bulbs to last more than 6 months tops.. if it does, congratulations! i had bulbs burn out on me after a month, but i have never tried the sylvania silverstars. thos are supposedly really good and should last you as long as the stock ones. at about $20 a bulb, i think its worth it rather than getting the $90 PIAA's. and by the way, i didnt know you became a moderator brian?!! hahaha.. congrats!

DO NOT BUY Eurolite. I bought some from Summit when they were on sale. They lasted 3 months (driver) and 4 months (passenger). Horrible buy.

Thanks for the info guys. I saw a set of PIAA extremes today but don't feel like paying $85 for a pair unless they're guaranteed for life. The silverstars are $50 a set, but you guys seem to like them. The other option was APR for $30 a set, but they didn't have the right model in stock, so I'll see what the other store has tomorrow. But the silverstars seem to be a popular choice. How's the visibility on them?
