Brand new GTS, Serious Problem?

Hey guys, I just bought a 2011 Lancer GTS. I like the car a lot, much better on gas than my 09 RX8. Well I drove to work today and noticed my Steering Wheel stays crooked about 1/2 inch to the right. If I position it straight in the center the car goes to the left and when I let go the steering wheel returns to its 1/2 inch right position.

I'm calling my dealer tomorrow because they owe me a sunroof installation and repairing a small scratch on the right door. Has anyone had this steering problem? I remember my 3000GT had this but it was old. I'm really upset that I got a brand new car and a day later I find out the steering is messed up already. What will the dealer do?

So I'll just take it to the dealer and I guess they have to re-align it? They did transfer the car tot he dealer I bought it from by driving it so its possible something got messed up.

Yeah its actually not as bad as you would think. This happened to my parents 02 Ford Explorer. I forgot how, but it was worse than 1/2 an inch haha, it looked retarded, but yeah it just has to be re-aligned. Still shouldnt have bought it like that brand new, but shouldnt be a problem to fix.

P.S. Go Eagles! ...Next season lol.

Well I wouldn't of bought it if I knew it was crooked. Once I went to pick my car up and trade mine in, I inspected it and everything seemed fine. I didnt notice it being crooked until I was just driving a day later and noticed to look down at the wheel. I mean you can barely tell it's crooked but if you put the steering dead center the car pulls to the left so yeah. I just hope they notice it, the salesman says his galant does the same thing.

Dont listen to the salesmen! Remeber, they are the enemy.... Lol just kidding, but he'll tell you anything. If its mis-aligned, its mis-aligned and can be fixed. Stick to that, but its really not a big thing anyway but rather save a couple bucks if you can than going to the mechanic. Anyways, hope it works out (it should lol), peace.

Acctually all lancers minus the RA and evo have always had this problem. If you noitice too, your left front tire will be getting more wear then any other tire. Its that damn torque pull/ camber setting they have on all the lancers.

Well I sent my car in to the dealer to get the sunroof installed. They also mentioned they would check out my steering. I hope they notice it, even though it may be very hard to notice unless they drive it and actually pay attention to the wheel. I also hope it can be corrected because it drives me nuts and sometimes it throws the car off because it will randomly start going towards one side when the wheel is centered.

I have a 2011 GTS and my steering wheel seems to be fine.
A little but how much are they charging to get the sunroof installed? I am debating on getting one installed as well.

I Wanted the car in stick with touring package like my rx8 was but they couldn't do both sun and sound in a manual GTS so the sunroof cost $1k, I got it for $900. It only brought the payments up by $16 more a month. I think the sunroof is what I would miss most. I'm just glad I am saving a lot more on gas with this car and it also looks good for being a sedan

Well I got my car back and the sunroof is awesome. It makes some noise when your going fast but it's a big difference with a sun roof. It opens to vent or fully open with the touch of one button, the button also regulates how much it should open. When you get out of the car the sunroof shuts by itself which I think is really cool. I think it can be also set to stay open though I haven't checked.

As for my alignment problem, they said they drive it and couldn't find an issue and the car does drive straight it could be how I'm sitting. But if I do have problems or I don't like it they said to bring it in a month and they can do alignment since it's covered for 12k miles/1 year.
