HID kit issues

Brand new in the forums and not sure if I in the right place...but here's my question!

Just got my 35w HID kit in the mail yesterday and installed them. However, they do not turn on automatically for my daytime running lights nor do they turn on manually via the headlight knob in my car IF the engine is running. They will only work if my car is off, I manually turn them on then start the engine.

This is with a 35w HID kit 9006 bulb type, plugged into the stock headlight wires/plug. My car is a 2009 Lancer GTS.

Any help would be great!

Thats weird. Are you sure you got everything plug in the right way? What harness are you using?

unfortunately HID kits are not made equally. Your best solution would be to buy a canbus fix (anti flicker) this will cause the hid to ignite regardless what position your headlight switch is in. The anti flicker acts as a capacitor that pools the voltage and spits out a steady flow of power to your HID kit. You will just have 100% power. the day time running light function will not be possible unless you have a bi-xenon setup.

if that doesnt help, shoot me a message.

Moved to Lancer General as it doesn't really fit in well in any of the Tech forums.

for some reason this sounds like it's not getting enough power... maybe purchase a wire harness so that both sides are connected to one plug and the battery. this'll also stop the flicker of the lights when they turn on (if it flickers)
