After listening to some of the people on here that know a thing or 2 about lancers/ evos ive discovered that disconecting there negative terminal on the battery for 30 mins (i did for an hour so that it cools and doesnt re wake at a high temp just incase) then reconnecting and starting it for 10 mins then take it for a drive, drive how ever you want slow and steddy fast quikker longer shifts, i drove for a faster shift (not sure how to explain like keep the rpms up before shifting so gains more speed) but after this i realised there was more my car engine was quieter the ride was smoother i was getting more torque wheels spinning faster like seriously a new mod ive moded a few things with my car with out un doing battery and serviced i recommend this to anyone who hasnt in my opion its the best the car has been it harnesses the headers exhaust better, anyways thanks thought id just share that with use hava good one

I'd like to know if others have experienced his

It's just the car relearning the A/F ratios and getting back to normal. Yes, it's 100% usual.

PS - once you start heavily modding your car, you'll hate doing it. Your car will run like crap until it gets re-used to the mods (because it's trying to run on the factory settings).

Yeah, it does learn. It's just that depending on HOW modified your car is, you might spend a couple hours of crappy idling, etc. But the car will learn around pretty much any mod (that doesn't require it's own tuning, obviously).

Yeah, it sucks.

Idol always jumps around from like 1200 to like 400 and sometimes at a stop sign itll go down like to 300 and then ill stall, etc. But eventually it learns and goes away

I absolutely hate disconnecting my battery. It takes almost a full day before it'll idle normal and won't dip after pushing in the clutch.

I remember those days. It's not bad with a turbo surprisingly.

It should only affect closed loop operation (fuel trims). When you're WOT, you're in open loop, using set values in the AFR and timing tables. Disconnecting the battery doesn't affect this at all. It only affects cruising and idle.

Should only reset the ecu after you do a mod.
Ie: header, pulley , exhaust, etc

Pulley wouldn't need a reset.
