i felt the same way on my car's oem oz cluster when the tach was on the left and the speedo was on middle.. when i first installed a evo8 cluster it took me some time to get used to having the tach in the middle of the cluster.. after that i got used to it

Okay, but going online to "enlighten" other people about YOUR personal taste is kind of my point. It's not like you're warning us about defective parts or a hidden TSB.

It would be like if I got married and then posted about all the things I don't like about my wife. That doesn't actually enlighten anyone. It's just a rant on the Internet.

I'm not trying to be unwelcoming. But you do have to understand - this is a forum to discuss the Lancer. Not for personal chatting. We have forums for Off Topic material. If every thread in Lancer General just became "what I hate about my car", then what help would it be to people? What new information would be getting spread around?

but seriously...relax, welcome to the board, and your thread was kind of pointless...not that your opinions aren't valid, it's just that most people here love and take pride in their cars, and probably don't care what you hate about it, but would be more than happy to offer suggestions on making it better...or even tell you first hand what mods/products they have installed, and their thoughts on it...

but i'm not sure what you can do for the cluster, i know for my model year we can swap Evo clusters, and they have the tacometer in the middle...black is the worst color...worse than white...most stock radios suck, and the wing is just there, take it off, or get one so big you can't see it in the back window! lol (don't do the last one ) you won't even notice it in a few months...
Touche... But i bet they wouldnt *****. lol

Having opinions and personal taste helps create a forum. It creates flames, trolls and rare occasions (around here) when someone actually agrees with you. If this isn't the right place then move it to off topic.

A better analogy would have been. If you married a women who has breast cancer. Now, in addition to having breast cancer she's only a A cup. So you go to a breast cancer forum to discuss her illness, but also discuss how you don't like small ****. It's a problem mixed with an opinion. At which point, I would try and console you about your wives illness as well as agree with you about small ****.

crappy paint = breast cancer
everything else = small ****

Really? Breast cancer = crappy paint?!

Especially since some people on this forum don't have a problem with the paint.

And then your saying by that metaphor you'd go to a cancer forum to say yeah I have a wife with cancer and it sucks. What responses do you think you'd get? You'd want to enlighten future couples of the hassle of being with someone who has cancer?

Dude, there's no way to justify this post. If you want to make light of the lancer platform make a "you know you drive a lancer when" then get people to join in.

Tell me what's the point of getting a Motorola phone then going to the forums and say the keyboard sucks, calls are bad, the screen is tiny when I every chance to get any other phone. That i am completely satisfied with at that. There's no reason for me to buy something when I have a choice that I'm not completely satisfied with.

I personally thought the cancer/paint analogy was genius. Seeing as my paint job is slowly getting eaten away, much like cancer would slowly deteriorate a person.

but I digress

This is a very bad point your trying to make.......the features that you are unhappy with on your car can be changed to the way that you want them to look........someone with breast cancer can't be fixed that easily and for you to come on a web site and come out with ''So you go to a breast cancer forum to discuss her illness'' and then turn around and say'' how you dont like small ****'' on a breast cancer forum .....i know you are only using this as an example but you see why people would be negative towards your post/comments if you come out with comments like that.............you really do have a way of putting things

you've got problems dude...your analogy is pure ignorance...

breast cancer, or any cancer isn't funny...people who get cancer go through a lot of pain...i mean everybody here is going to die at some point, but joking about cancer isn't cool man...grow up

Wow I didn't read every post but I really have to say this forum is here to find solutions to problems not complain about them.

If you really want to hear all the bad things about your car, show up at the next nearest Honda meet, park between an s2000 and an integra. They will be sure to talk trash about your car.

So some people want speed or handling you need, a paint job. Modify your armrest with padding or what have you to make it more accommodating. Make small lip for your radio similar to the style of the orbital kit. Remove the rear spoiler and color match vinyl over the holes. Then get an Evo 8-9 gauge cluster it has the speedo and tach in opposite places like you prefer.(unless you already have an Evo one and don't know, then you need a non Evo cluster)

Post up some pics, year ect.

Don't agree with cancer statement, I don't think you thought out what you said, agree with what you said about forums that should be helpful not total negativity which I reckon 85% of threads have, moat people on other forums would help give you pros and cons regardless if was not a great point, had previosly been said or specially if there new because really people are the ones that keep forums up, my 2 cents

The main problem with your analogy: this is a Mitsubishi Lancer enthusiast forum. NOT a forum for people coping with bad Lancer paint jobs.

To use your analogy, you've gone on a forum for people that love Asian women. You are saying "man, I love my wife, but first she got breast cancer, now she has small ***** and some pimples and she bites her nails. Overall, she's great, but I really hate those little details!" At which point anyone would read your post and say "Wow, this guy is nuts. Why is he posting this?"

Is there black automotive paint in the known universe that does not easily show marring? No?

Horrible front armrest positioning
We don't all sit the same way.

Stock radio is virtually unreadable in sunlight
Ummm...squint.

The rear wing can be a bit obstructive but it doesn't bother me much
The trim on the B-pillars doesn't bother me much, either, but I think it'll include it as a point of contention, anyway.

I feel the RPM gauge should be on the left and the speedometer moved to the right side
How could they?! How could anyone do something like this without consulting your personal preference structure. Speedo on the left. That's cray talk.

Okay i'm only gonna comment on the paint as that is the only one in which you have no standing on as the other stuff is pretty much an issue of personal tastes really.

1) NO black paint hides scuffs very well. That is the main reason I went for the graphite grey over black when I got my car. Had a black car...never again. Black cars are nice when shiny and new but are hard to live with.

2) NONE of the new car paints are what they use to be. Even high brands like porche has a noticably weaker coat of paint then they use to (my friend recently got one).
