Missing Button on Lancer

I purchased my Lancer in December of 2011 at the Mid Toronto Mitsubishi, and it has been a horrible experience.

After getting the call to let me know the car is ready for pickup, I took a half day off work and drove 40 minutes (with traffic) to get there. After signing all the paperwork, they then told me the spoiler wasn't ready yet, and I will have to drive it back once the spoiler is in. I hesitantly agree. And then during inspection, I noticed that a button was missing on the dashboard. It's a dummy button, but without it, there's just an apparent hole on there. After many excuses, they told me to just go home with the car first and when I pick up the spoiler, a button will be installed. Once again, I agreed.

I get a call 2 weeks after to let me know my spoiler was ready and again, I had to take time off work to go there, since the shop doesn't open on weekends. After the spoiler was installed, I realized they totally forgot about my missing button. And again, they told me to go home and wait for a call when the button is ready. It has been 5 months. They have not called me once to update me, and each time I call, they just give me some BS excuses about it being back-ordered. I emailed this to the PR department of Mitsubishi, but I haven't received any responses either.

I just don't know what to do anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not accepting delivery of the car/signing paperwork and then telling the dealer to call you when all parts are installed would have been the right course of action. But hindsight is 20/20...

As far as the button goes: If a dealership can't follow through on a PLASTIC BUTTON, find a new dealership. I'd hate to imagne how they'd treat you with a more serious problem. You might try a junk yard to see if you can find one there??

is dying a slow, painful death - so unfortunately, your button or dealership experience won't even be on the radar of their PR department.

that is true, you should have sign all the papers once the items are in place of that car...

Yeah, it was a rookie mistake. It was my first time buying a car, so I wasn't sure of the procedure.

I guess I could find the part myself, but I just find it unethical on their part to just sell the car to me and just leave me hanging.
