Gauge Cluster Question
Kar33m and I took apart my gauges to take the red LED cover off so they would be stock orangish and when we put it back together the needle on the mph gauge is a little jerky and goes by 4mph at a time, but the tach gauge is smotth and fine. we didnt touch the needle and when the car is off it sits at 2mph. how can we fix this?
-Thanks
-Thanks
wish i could help. i'm not sure what the problem is, but all i know is be EXTREMELY careful. COUNTLESS # of people have tampered with their needles. either by changing colors, or installing indiglo gauges. people who have messed up, wound up either buying a whole new cluster from the junkyard, or their dealer (on all types of cars). all i can say is be careful. you wouldnt believe how sensitive those things are. sorry i couldnt be more help.

cool, but is there a way to fix that? it seems like the needle is being pressed to the back of the gauges and can onl move when its like being pushed harder (like 5 mph ahead) then it jerks to that speed.

i didnt touch the needle at all. I started my car this morning and everything seemed like it was working ok, but then like 3 miles later it started doing it again so i took my gaues apart and made sure everything was right, but it still does it so im just leaving my car unplugged for a while to see if that helpes.

problem solved. the "trip" meter thing protruded a little when we put the gauges back together because we pressed it too hard so i just popped the trip / miles meter back into place and everything else went into place so its all good now.

which wont be a good thing.
