Issues with my lancer - and a goodbye
Issues with my lancer - and a goodbye
Since the day I purchased the car, I love how it looked outside, but inside, literally, inside was killing me. The drab dark plasticky interior. I honestly think I made the wrong choice with Mitsubishi. They never backed their warranty. Every time I went in for service (usually only for warranty purposes) they would claim to fix it but the issue would come back!
Issue #1 -NO START -https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/toronto-lancer-club/548158-2008-lancers-ralliarts-evox-problem-starting.html
The damn car would not start every now and then! Dealer tries to mimic this issue, but they can't. One of the mechanics has an EVOX and he also has this issue and says lots of lancers, ralliarts, and evos have this , just live with it. However he says its minor, but its a very embarrassing problem
Issue #2 - TPMS - I've asked the dealer to replace them, even pleaded with them but they won't. Reason - they can't replicate the issue AGAIN. So what happens is, the TPMS likes to randomly come on now and then, even though all tire pressures are manufacture spec and are exactly the same PSI all around... I hate taking 400km road trips and having the TPMS light trip up. pull over the highway, its all good and get back into the car, drive away and the TPMS light disappears, WTF
Issue #3 - Wind Noise and random noises - its getting louder and louder as the years go by. Maybe my weather strips are loosing their seal. But its extremely excessive on highway speeds. Not to mention pushing on the interior plastics you hear a nasty crunchy noise. This sucks too when random noise squeek and rattle on a day to day basis.
Issue #4 -Steering column? - I have strange sound when moving the steering wheel all the way left and all the way right, it makes a "whrrrrrrkkllkkkkk" noise and occasionally a POP POP POP noise. The dealer went all the way and replace the entire steering column. They claimed to have put in a new one but, I still hear the exact thing. Not to mention they break the plastic clips that hold the covers on the steering wheel, and they scratched my aluminum steering buttons!!!!!!!!!!!!
Issue #5 - WARRANTY is a lie. Usually I go in the dealer asking if they could fix my TPMS, NO starting, suspension squeaking, steering issue. None of it is fixed.
Its been a rough 3 years. And the 3 years I've been lying to myself that I made a good decision, Telling myself how clean and beautiful it looks. But I can't take it any more. With all the dealerships around me closing (closest ones are 50Km+) its more of a pain to get stuff fixed. This is my first and last mistubishi.
Just sold this car last week. It feels so good not to have to worry about the small things any more. It hurts to see it go, I loved it so much, so much I tried forgetting about the problems I've been having... until she doesn't start in the morning.......
Sorry guys, I didn't mean to insult your vehicles, its just i've been holding it in for 3 years, and everytime someone asks "hey man hows your car" I usually lie with a simple answer - ITS AWESOME (deep down inside I HATE my lancer)
anyways, I I'm back with Toyota. And man do they ever treat their customers like royalty. Just put my name on the Scion FRS, driving my wife's RAV4 for the time being.
