Question I need your opinions please!

Ok here's the deal. I currently own a Lancer ES with The Greddy Catback, Injen CAI, and the Road Race Test Pipe and the Ebay Front and Rear Strut Bar including the Lower Tie Bar. I am getting my tax returns in about 2 weeks. The question is this:

1. Do I buy the following: Road Race Slotted Rotors, & Porterfield Carbon Kelvar Pads & Progress Springs

2. Kamikaze Headers & Progress Springs

3. The new Road Race ECU piggyback.

I cannot afford all these items at once as I need to pay some credit cards off. Please let me know what option would be best right now. I am aiming more towards headers for more power.

Thanks people. Hope your tax returns are good numbers too!

i'd say go with the header/springs. you should be able to do the header yourself.....as long as that little bastard nut on the lower left cooperates. springs i've never done. you should get the most bang for your buck with those though.

100% agree. kamikaze header rocks! and dropping the car looks way sexy. honestly though, your definately going to love the power from the header, and the springs are going to give your car an attractive/cool look. you cant go wrong with that combo.

Keep this in mind. It's nice to have a fast car, but you gotta be able to keep it on the road and to stop in time. So I would go with brakes and springs, then I would go faster and piggyback

Thanks for the imput guys. I really appreciate it. Just for kicks where did you order your Headers from? I am looking into Kamikaze and I know there have been group buys so other than those where can I get them?

Let me add something to your list....

Rear sway bar.....

This is seriously one of the best handling improvements you can make to the car. Id say get your suspension set before you try to play with horsepower.....

Well I think I have decided to go with the Progress Springs, Brake Pads, and Kamikaze Headers. On www.ptuning.com they have the Springs for $127.00 and Headers for 253.00 with free shipping on both. I think I order from there and just order the brake pads from Road Race.

if you want go power, the rrm piggy back ecu, will be your biggest bang for buck.

i would go springs, rotors, and pads, though.

Ryan,
I would go in this order:
1. Rear sway bar (even just one off of an OZ for now)
2. Porterfield pads
3. Wheels and tires
4. Shocks/struts and springs (+ camber bolts)
5. Lastly more HP

It won't take much for your car to turn and brake like a champ. The reality is that in a drag race you are likely to get smoked by a lot of other cars out there even with a header and piggyback ECU. Pulling G's is a lot more fun than having a quick 0-60.

here ya go...

$150 get u lowering springs....or al the way to $1k for fully adjustable coilover kit from Tein....

than Front/Reat Strut Bar, Rear Sway Bar

Some nice 17" wheels/tires

Some New Pads...maybe slotted rotors.

Than after that....get the Intake, Throttle Body, Header, Down PIpe, Hi-flo Cat, Cat-Back exhaust Than a piggyback i guess...lol

All those Suspension/Handling mods will allow you to keep up with the turbocharged guys on autocross events...and the few N/A mods will help you keep up on the street....

i mean...if u illegally race someone....and you can ONLY go straight..how u gonna ditch the cops? would u rather...lose the race by 1/2 a car....but take that turn that left residential housing turn at an extra 20-30mph? think about it...

PS...instead of all those N/A mods....save a few pennies, get a few friends and Custom Turbo your car...(cost 2k for a decent setup, similar to all those N/A mods) and a full 2.5" turbo-back exhaust(maybe a hi-flo cat or 2 for emissions). Than you will win the drag race and be able to turn faster from handling mods...and pull away from the turn faster to!
