hey i have 2 12 inch subs in my trunk now and they hit pretty hard and the trunk rattles alot even with the dynomat, i was wondering if i bought a carbon fiber trunk to replace the stock one, would there be more or less rattling? or about the same?

 

Probably more, but you'd look cooler bumping and rattling down the street!!!

 

the same, the trunk isn't what is rattling, its the bumper and possbile spoiler if you have one. if the trunk is rattling the rubber stoppers can be loosened to create tension on the trunk, hence no rattle. buy some c clamps and clamp the bumper to the body tighter. thats what i did and it worked great. put them behind the bumper on the top.

 

lol yea def. cooler with a wrattling carbon fiber trunk urban, and i think i am going to try that c clamp thing to stop the bumper from rattling, i never heard that suggested so hopefully it works!

I have a carbon trunk.. it is all one piece vis,, and there is no rattle!!!!!! No dynamat too!!!!

wut! you dont have any rattling AND with no dynomat? thats awesome, i wish mine was like that, did you have rattling b4 the cf trunk? or are all the EVO's just rattle proof or something? i dont know cuz i just have a regular lancer

 

The evos have thousands of seam and spot welds.

 

i think its because his points towards the center (nice setup by the way) ... if ur box is ported on the top than it will make ur trunk lid rattle

There was rattle with the factory trunk lid. the carbon lids are one piece and I am guessing that is why they don't rattle, mind you I don't have the wing on yet,, it might rattle then??

 

my trunk never rattled with my subs in. But then again, i had my seats folded down and the subs faced towards the front of the car hehe

 

i have one 12 in my trunk with a vis carbon trunk and evo 7 wing and it raddles!

 

go for the carbon fiber! looks sweet and if it rattles, oh well, your rattling with style!
