Question homemade grounding kit

I remeber back in sept. that someone was selling grounding kits. I was wonder if he was still selling them and if anyone who has them could tell me how they like them.

just do it yourself, do a search and I am sure you can find the how to. I found it more rewarding to do something like that myself. As for gains, there wasn't anything too noticable, maybe the idle is more crisp. Just don't expect too much.

over the hill on the EVO side of this forum there is a howto in there, im sure its identical to ours, maybe slightly different lengths for the wiring?

That was actually a question I had when I relocated my battery. Making a kit would require a lot more wire with the battery being in the trunk. But I heard you have to be on a dyno and try multiple patterns to actually find some gains out of a grounding kit. Otherwise, it just looks pretty, and maybe helps a little.

actually your grounding kit will not be significantly different if you have a relocated battery... you can just ground the battery to the base of where your spare is or something like that... you dont need to run the negative wire that is already there back to the trunk... as for DIY.. these are measurements that have worked for many people!!

Driver's side fender to neg terminal: 38cm
neg term to top of tranny: 62cm
top of tranny to back of head (engine hoist attachment): 45cm
Head to intake: 25cm
intake to fire wall: 15cm
fire wall to passenger fender: 85cm

so roughly you are looking at about 8-10 ft of wire.. more if you want to do your own extra points anywhere else in the car

neg term to top of tranny. Wouldn't that have to run from then battery in the trunk to the front of the car?

thats what i was thinking...lol maybe if u connect one end of a wire to each 'point' and than the other end of each wire to a wire running to the batt in the trunk it'd work? or u can just put aluminum foil all over ur car and have lots of different points!! lol

i think ill just get some new hoses and be done with engine dress up, lol
