Hi, just bought a 2003 OZ Rally this morning (2/8/14) and really like it even though it needs a bit of tlc and work to get it back to top shape. Was used as a work vehicle by previous owner and shows the signs of wear and tear like a small pickup truck. Original rims and even floor mats still in it but he added the evo spoiler to it and a greddy exhaust to it.
When I start it up it does not smoke or shudder any but engaging 1st gear some rattles and even sounds like the throwout bearing is rusty needing replacement. Are these clutches adjustable as this one is very easy to use with almost no resistance as opposed to the Dodge Stratus RT I got rid of with the same engine and tranny.
Paid $1,100 for the car and drove it home with no issues save the clutch feels weak and noisy and maybe motor mounts need replacing. A/C does not work at moment as from what I have seen around the temp knob issue is definitely an effect here. Only mod I would think of doing to this is the hood and front bumper to match the evo 7 for better airflow for the radiator. Gunmetal grey with very dirty interior and 3 minor dents to fix on the body, 218K miles.
Also from the looks it was in a front end accident years ago and a slight bow on the radiator support and small tweak to radiator itself but no issues with hood opening or sealing right. Tried online to find a service manual like Haynes and they did not make one for this line so any leads to a book I can buy or download would be greatly appreciated. (this is my hello thread post and will search this site right after for one so if it is there I will find it but just posted as a curiosity)
Sorry it is a long post but if you kept reading thanks, will post a few pics within a few days after I do a little cleanup to the inside and wash the outside. like stated though, not interested and making a fake evo to race and shame the name with just like the open front of the evo 7 and it basically looks the same as now just minus that grille. it is a 4 cyl OZ and better judgment knows not to mess with that.
