need a pros opinion help please

hello everybody, i've tried 3 other forums and everybody else wants to donkey dongs to me, so i figured somebody here might help me... i just bought a 2014 lancer es the dealer filled the car up for me when i bought it...i figured it held 18.5 gallons like the book said and now the car has 244 miles on it and is on empty is this correct or am i missing something??? the sticker said it should get like 30mpg??? so from what i can tell it should get something like 555 miles to a tank here the math i used 18.5*30=555 and here is the math for the what i used 244/18.5=13.18mpg is this right? there are quite a few other problems/concerns i will ask later...any help would be great...

Advertised MPG's have been suspect since they were first listed my any manufacturer and are always optimistic to say the least. Think driving downhill at a constant 45 MPH with a tailwind.

LOL, you know that sounds just about how they test.
I recently found out that some drive UNDER the speed limit for the highway numbers.

Yeah, those mpg tests are held in strict environments. I wouldnt expect to get the same mpg.

But do the new Lancers really hold 18.5 gallons? That sure is a lot for an economy car. Previous gen is 13.

It would help if the OP recorded his actual miles and divided that by his actual gallons used to get his actual MPG's.

But why take the guess work out of it?

ok...next question, i live in the mountains of Pennsylvania, 1 of the local hills is long, steep and curvy, i think the sign says 22% grade, length is 3.25 miles and an elevation change of about 1100 feet, excited to get the new car into it, was only able to top it at 57-60 mph, speed limit on the mountain road is 55, is something wrong with my new car or is this normal for this car on these types of roads??? i was really disappointed
