Does anyone know how many miles past the usual servicings will a check engine light come on?

Mine came on today and I have not been able to get the 45K service yet. I may have to put it on my CC but I was trying to avoid that.

Can anyone tell me if there is a mileage limit on the SES light?

i went past my scheduled service once by almost 3000 miles because i never had time to take it and my SES light never came on. but my SES light has been triggered by a loose gas cap around 3 or 4 times now and i just reset the ECU every time it happens. thats what probably happened..

My light has never come on like this before so I guess something is really wrong. I'm getting it checked out on monday
