08 lancer engine noise urgent
Hey guys new to the forum , I have a 08 Mitsubishi Lancer de , I think it is the 4b11. It’s been making this ticking noise loulder on cold start. Tick speeds up with throttle. I’ve posted a few videos. The second video I rev it up to 2k or so to show the progression in tick. Thank you !!

I listened to your Vids & hear it as well. Could be a no. of things from valvetrain noise to a belt tensioner issue to an exhaust leak?
How many miles on the motor? When was the last belt change?
Maybe the guys have other ideas for you to check

Thanks for the response ! The car has 305,000 kms I bought it for the body but was hoping maybe I could save it, I have no idea on the last belt change, I’ve tried to bring it to my local shop but he just said it sounded bad and I should replace it. It indeed could be an exhaust leak as I do smell of a bit, the other thing that concerned me was when I’m pulling up to a stop sign or light I can almost hear it tick a ltttle loulder for a few seconds then I goes back to what I consider normal (still ticking )
305KM, thats 189,000 miles (shazaam thats a lot of miles)
After that many miles, maybe its valve lifter tick?
