I was just sitting here thinking about my intake and realized I have had it on for 7 months now without cleaning it.

Does anyone know a regular interval for filter cleaning or is it just as needed basis?

I have an injen intake and was wondering if I could use the KN filter cleaning kit from the drop in to clean the injen filter.

i think it is recommended to clean the filters every 15-20k miles i think...

 

i bought the kn recharger today, it said to use only with kn filter.

 

all companies products say that... most filters are all made out of the same material... i think it would be okay.

 

yea i think k&n wants to get cleaned by its own cleaner

 

I use the K&N Filter Charger Kit on my AEM. I not sure but I beleve K&N makes most of the filters for big name co's. At any rate I shouldn't matter it's all the same stuff.

 

I agree, I think it's a K&N filter on your Injen and AEM intakes anyway. Also, I think the cleaning kit had some rediculously high mileage to clean it. I'd say as needed, and just follow the directions on the cleaner.

30-50K. These babies were meant to go long intervals without needing service. I'm about to clean mine after my trip to St Pete, so I'll try to make a how to out of it with pics when i get back next week.

 

i clean mines when i change the oil. (every 3 grand or so) Or when it looks dirty.

 

k&n used to make em for aem but now aem produces em in house
