I live in NH, and you can keep it in your window and everything is chill. But I've been pulled over a few times before I had it up there. Good excuse everyone can use at least once. Tell the cop you were in an accident and you just had the front bumper replaced, by the dealer of course and they didn't have a mounting bracket for the front plate. This will work unless the cop is a dick, lata

So it's just basically If your willing to take the risk of getting cited for it. Because You never know it depends on the cop and their mood.

SCC did a whole article in Oct. '03 on all of the legalities of each state, including the FMLC, tint %, ride height, etc. The site doesn't allow you to pull up the article but I'm sure you can find out that info on the web if ya really wanted to.

I agree, I think some people just don't want to look. I ran a yahoo search to find the licence plate rule in California. Just typed in california vehicle code. And I also found the federal laws regarding a 3rd brake light. You just have to look around.

Im in Northern NJ and i've been driving with no Front Plate for almost a year and i havent gotten flamed by a cop for it! But then again.. cops in populated NJ cities have REAL crimes to deal with... so i get to benefit off of that!

bottom line is that california and nevada are two plate states for sure. Drive around at your own risk without a front plate. More than likely the cops really don't care though.

... if u have holes for the plate then your supposed to have one... but if u take off the mount on the evo there are no apparent holes. and isnt this discriminating against cars. o well i just got a fix it ticket for no front license plate. sigh 100 dollars. worst of all i got it from a meter maid. sad thing is that that was the only offense, it wasnt like i got a expired meter or anything. damned cops in san francisco are so desperate for money now it isnt funny.

Doesn't matter if you have holes or not. All cars manufactured after 1960 something or other were required to provide the consumer with some way to mount the front plate. Believe me, I heard the speech from a cop before.
