If you can get us a bushing, we can see about making a stiffer one.
Any basic shape we can do. If it's something that's flat on one side (many bushings are) it's just a one-piece mold, which means minimal tooling costs for us (and cheaper price to you).
Is there demand? What bushings do you want? Can anyone fork over some OEM bushings, or give me part numbers?
Thanks!
used parts are best for seeing where the bushing takes the heat, but I'll use NEW bushings to make molds from.
On the Eclipse/Stratus Coupe, for example, the front swaybar bushings I make are about the same durometer hardness as the OEM ones. The difference is in the construction- polyurethane vs rubber. Rubber will crack and dry rot. Also, for the front swaybar, we noticed the bracket that holds the bar and bushing in place on either side isn't as wide as it could be, so our swaybar bushing kit comes with wider 6061-T6 brackets, so the bushing has more surface area to rest against (making the bushing effectively stiffer and stronger).
Even pics with the bushings you want circled or highlighted would help, especially if they suffer from inadequate brackets like on the front bar of the Eclipse.
Anyone know who rents Lancers?

Groovy.
I'm down a car, as we're getting a new engine and turbo in our Spirit, and could use a nice clean rental for a few days.
It only took us a weekend on the car to prototype rear swaybar endlinks, mounts, and radiator brackets for the 2000 Neon

edit:
I haven't been able to find an available Lancer rental yet, but I did go ahead and order a front and rear swaybar bushing (OEM), and we'll see what we can do with them. As far as other suspension bushings, can anyone get some decent digi pics and email them to us or post them here?
edit (1/25)
I have front and rear swaybar bushing molds made. Anyone want a prototype set?
I need to know how many different swaybars are out there, if any. According to the parts guy at the local dealership, there's only one dia. of front and rear bar for all non-EVO Lancers. The rear bushing I got had a pretty small hole.
As soon as the swaybar bushing molds are done curing, I'll look into the other parts I can process. I need PICS, even if they're still attached to the car, of which bushings you need (in fact, on the car is probably best to show the parts dept. so they can get me a corrosponding diagram).
Thanks!

BUMP:
'cause I have a set of red swaybar bushings I'd like to give away. Anyone want a set? All I ask for is install pics, and opinions after some use.
I'll do a black set next, and give them away, too.
The swaybar bushings are made from the same material our FIRM mounts are made from- polymer-fiber reinforced polyurethane rubber. Not your Pep Boys windo-weld !
edit:what the hell was I thinking- I meant BUSHINGS, not brackets. Sorry about that. Obviously, the brackets wouldn't be made out of polyurethane anyway, but in case anyone was confused...

Ill check those out for you if you want.
Free bushings are gone. We're sending them out this weekend, and are eager to hear results.
The OEM bushings seem to be about 65A durometer, and ours are between 75A and 80A durometer. Ours also are made with polymer-fiber reinforcement, for added shear resistance. This isn't something you can really "test" without the wear-n-tear of time. Rubber bushings would be cracked, dry-rotted, and torn, and the poly ones wouldn't. We've been running our own swaybar bushings on our '96 Neon and our '02 Stratus Coupe for years now, with good results.
If the swaybar bushings fit up OK in the test vehicles, I'll be happy to add them to our lineup. I'll then start looking at other suspension bushings...
