I just found a picture of my first Lancer...

...it was a 1986 Dodge Lancer which I bought off a buddy in 1994. The car ran great until I blew the head gasket driving back from the Upper Peninsula, MI--yeah, I pushed the poor thing a bit too much trying to get home faster than I should have. I eventually donated it to the National Kidney Foundation in '97.

Yup. When you own a "beater" you have to put up with a lot of nagging little S#!*-- y'know: windows don't roll down--or up; car won't start in the cold--or heat; you need a pole, rod, or bat to prop-up the hatch--or hood...

I wish I still had them, I'd love to slap those on the new car in the winter
