Block Heater Install

I know the harsh Canadian winter is still a couple months off, but does anyone know the standard Mitsu standard for installing one ?, I mean how the cable is routed in the engine bay and stuff and what postion the element is postion(12,3,6,9 o'clock). My local dealer is having a special($50cdn installed) on them and they are not too sure how its done either, they had to check the dealer link with Mitsu headquarters and determine if the element should be at the 9 or 3 o'clock position for maximum coolant heating, but there was no instructions on the wire routing. This is what Mitsu lacks, standard operating procedures for their dealers. It took the mechanic a good two hours to install a block heater and the wire routing was horrible, I had to redo it so it didn't stress on the electircal wires that it was tye wrapped. Any ideas ?
