Well i just hit 16000 miles and the check engine light comes on. Welp i take it into the dealer and they tell me the front catalytic converter is "messed up". Well they are ordering me a new one as its covered by my warranty. Any ideas of what could have happened or what really is messed up?

Any mods on your car at all?

 

Did they tell you it was the 02 sensor was messed up or the cat converter? The front cat converter is right near the 02 sensor which i know is very sensitive. If you knock the 02 sensor around too much, it will stop working.

No mods and no they said it was the cat not the o2 sensor.
