aem cold air system set up
aight, forgive me if this has already been posted, recently i purchased a aem intake, im curious. those under panels i did leave on because i've done seen past instances of those removed and causing trouble to the intake. Hence, i did notice how very close my filter was to the driver side front bumper mesh opening. my question is, is there any other way to get those dang pieces of plastic mesh out without completely removing my front bumper? if anyone could help me i'd appreciate it, i'm hardly ever on here, so i'd appreciate it if any comments could be sent to my e-mail @ justinstephens311@hotmail.com thanks!
I dont think so, i just got in a wreck a few days ago and it pushed that plastic mesh up and it seems to be one big "clip-on" piece. You could always just cut it if it was bothering you that bad. But i would think it would be a good idea to keep it on, air flow would still probably be more than enough.
nice! that sounds just about easy enough. i dunno i could screw it up though! look on my webpage http://www.cardomain.com/id/lancerfreak311 i just added front mesh to my bottom grill and was going to do it to the 2 side pockets, but after i read this i'm just going to take those out, hey i appreciate it.
if you don't want to completely remove the piece just drill some holes through it...just remember to be carefull of drilling through your filter so don't drill to deep once you break through the plastic. also if you haven't reinstalled the bottom splash guard i would recommend doing so (if you are not utilizing a by-pass valve). you wouldn't want to risk sucking in water and hydrolocking that engine of yours
if you need any help with it pm me i'd be glad to help.

Yeah, I took mine out. 2 little screws hold that plastic fake-mesh in. When you remove it, the Air filter is RIGHT there. Creates a little "Ram-air" dam. I've been running like this for over 5,000 miles. No problems so far.
