anyone know how to replace the automatic shift knob with one for a manual transmission so i dont have to push the stupid button to downshift?

 

doesnt downshifting on an automatic ruin your tranny?!... ive seen a couple of guys had their trannies blown because of it... be careful.. i heard you just have to adjust the knob to make it fit... but the manual knobs should fit i think?!

 

i think he means downshift from P to D

there are 2 screws on the front of the knob, unscrew those screws and the knob slips right out. I also had a manual knob on my auto before but i didnt like it because the aluminum material gets really hot after sitting in the school parking lot everyday. All i did was put little strips of postal labels from the post office and wrap it around the rod so the manual knob can be pushed down smoothly
