First of all, JC That monkey avitar is fuc*in' awesome! lol

Ok now, Ive heard much talk of these "Ground Wire" kits...
What exactly are they really for? (Obviously Grounding ****... but WHY?)
Ive heard people say they actually notice some kind of difference in the car as well, even Hp... Is this bullsh!t or what?
Im very skeptical about this, so enlighten me...

haha thanks cityknight. *i love the monkey*

im not to sure myself about the ground kit. maybe if someone knows they can explain it better. this is why i just got the cheap ebay one. its really more for dressing up my engine. but maybe someone can explain what it does. i know there was a thread on it in the evo how to thread.

Grounding kits are not going to give you ANY kind of gain at all so dont kid yourself. However i have been told by guys i trust that they smooth out the general flow of electricity in the car, this will more or less extent the life of your components, especially if you have higher end audio/video. Ive also been told itll smooth the idle somewhat.

should I take the wire off going from the neg terminal to the front of the valve cover ? ( on the hinge you use when you jump the car )

i didn't know if that was one of the spots to ground so i slapped one on anyway

edit: as for the questions about what it does

i've heard a lot of different things, all i have noticed is that my headlights are brighter, my system sounds a little "cleaner" and the idle is smoother ( not as bumpy, i have rrm pb and it still causes it to be jumpy a little )

I've noticed that with my grounding kit that acceleration is smoother, not a huge deal, and that my electronics work better: lights are brighter, stereo sounds better, and milage is effected slightly. But then again my grounding kit is connected to every point that Mitsubishi ground and in a continous loop back to the negitive and fender ground points.

It's far more effective than many of the ebay brands and looks nicer, IMHO.

thats exactly what im working out, with the kits that have a larger mounting block for the neg terminal i think you have to modify the existing cable. Ill let ya know if i work something out.

Grounding kit pics

This kit is one continuous rope with grounding points at the neg batt terminal, then the driver's side fender, then the starter, then a point on the head, then a couple points on the valve cover (coil packs), then the alternator, then the passenger side fender.

My battery terminals are running at max capacity right now. There is only one pt. of my grounding kit connecting to the neg batt terminal. The other wires are the voltage stablizer, OEM wires, and power wires for alarm/amps/fog lights/etc.
