missing Filter Question

I popped open my hood after driving about 15 miles to discover the air filter had popped off. I don't know if it came of while I was driving or if it came off while stationary. My question is: is it safe to be driving around with no air filter and will driving that 15 miles without it going to cause engine trouble down the line? Should I notice something wrong right away?

Also, how do I keep this from happening again? I've tightened the clamps as far as I could. Maybe add another hose clamp?

just driving 15 miles without a filter should be ok, just make sure you get a new one quick. I would also add another hose clamp, maybe 2 different types of hose clamps.

Use one hose clamp again, but make sure the intake pipe is completely clean and free of oil. For extra security, put a bit of hairspray on it. Though I'm having a hard time imagining how it could've fallen off in the first place.

T-Bolt clamp FTW... You'll be fine. People drive ITB'd cars as their daily drivers w/o filters or screens. You'll be fine...

basically you're fine, the only problem is if you suck up something, and you would notice it right away. Better if you have a short ram since its farther from rocks and stuff. Mine fell off a while back, dont know how, I just opened the hood and the filter was laying in front of the pipe, no problem. just put it back on and tighten it.
