about my carbon fiber trunk??

can you paint carbon fiber??, i have an idea of painting it black, first i was gonna wet sand it taking off the clear coat and then applying 2 coats of black and 2 coats of clear

yes. you can paint CF. Sand clear some and paint over it I believe. Clear coat is paint, it just has no pigment. You can paint it though to answer your question.

Personally, you really only get carbon fiber on a Lancer for looks. It wont do much for performance although every bit of weight savings helps.... At least thats what I tell myself.

you can paint anything.....except maybe styrofoam, I think it melts. lol

If the surface is flawless (though I remember you saying it has that hole in the middle), I'd just rough it up a little, throw on some black sandable primer, sand & wet sand that, then do the final black coats, & clear...
