Would it be hard to add a rear spoiler with working light?
Would it be hard to add a rear spoiler with working light?
I've got a stock '05 ES, and I've always liked the look of the OZ spoiler
So I was looking at picking one of these up: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=230167278128
Just looking for some info on what kind of work I'm getting myself into
Thanks in advance

not hard at all... you SHOULD have wiring for the third brake light since i do believe they use the same harness across all the lancer models (evo is included in this).
i put a evo VIII third brake light on my car when i had a VII spoiler and the VIII third brake light had a male connector that plugged right into a female piece of the harness.
you can either wire the OZ spoiler into there--or you can use the wires coming out of this harness and going to your pre-existing third brake light since you have an ES. i suggest removing the third brake light if you switch to a spoiler that has one. the holes left in your rear deck can be covered by a piece of wood with fabric attached to it... i could even send you some grey fabric that matches the interior and snap a picture of what i did to cover the holes i'd made for that VIII brake light which is now out of the car.
