I saw this same setup on a Mazda in person...basically a DIY Home Dept job with different hinges, bolts, and a slide-pin lock.

I understand what you meant; basically you'd like for it to hinge on passenger side and open up from the opposite side. Well, just so you know...unless you do some crazy fab work, this current plan won't. The Madza I saw (in person mind you) lifted normally, with with a release of a pin-lock one side lifted up 45 degrees and locked in the position with another pin-lock. It was a ghetto-fab job, but with work and more effort it could look nice.

The trunk would have to open up normally and then raised to the side for it to work. The angle of the trunk by the lights wont let the trunk simply open up sideways. You need to have a custom hinge job that allows the trunk to open up first, then raised to the side.

^^ what he said.. But even if thats what you wanted, wouldnt it make more sense to open toward the passenger side? That way you wouldnt have to walk past your trunk to open it back to where you just came from.. My 0.02

yeah that does make sense but Im going to do the same thing to my hood and Im going to have it open opposite of the trunk. I figured since Id be under the hood more than the trunk Id have the hood open to where I didnt have to walk all the way around the car to get to the motor.....

any ways can anybody help me with a how to or pictures or something because after all that is what Im looking for.

oh and also Im not posting stuff on here to listen to your burns. If you are going to post something make it about the subject at hand... I don't care if you think its gay, its what I want to do. If someone wanted to paint their interior pink and put fluffy stuff all over the dash I might think its gay but Id tell them how to take the dash pieces and the door pieces off so they could paint it. After all that is what this forum is about.

Since you won't find anyone on here that has done these specifics modifications to their cars, try looking at other models out there that have...and check to see how exactly they did theirs. BTW, AutoLoc ( http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/autoloc/ )makes a bunch of stuff like that : lambo doors, suicide doors, suicide hoods, etc etc.

Good luck!
