So you wanna reupholster everything? Guessing since you asking for a how-to that you don't do this on a regular basis? profession? Best thing is to find a local upholstery place and have them do the work.

well to answer you, no... I don't do this on a regular basis. I enjoy learning new things and this is how I learn....Pictures and words. I'm a towboater so my profession has nothing to do with upholery. But then again I never worked with fiberglass either and I just built a custom speaker box for my car and it turned out nice. I learned how to do that from pics and internet as well.

^I definitely can appreciate learning to do new things by yourself! but unless you've got a sewing machine and good with it, this would be something to take somewhere. Depending on the shop, if you took them the seats out of the car, it would really drop the costs of job in total.

^ Have you ever taken it to a shop? If so how much did it run you, and what did you do? And what about the interior carpet and headliner do really need to go to a shop for that too?

Performance Auto & Sound magazine did a half-*** how to a few issues ago.

As a professionally trained upholstery technician, I can tell you first hand it is alot harder than you might think. Especially to do it right. In all actuallity, it would end up being cheaper just to go have it done at a shop. You will encounter alot of 'unforseen expenses' along the way if you do it yourself. Not to mention, most standard household sewing machines can't handle automotive grade material, nor will they yield good enough results (in most cases) to even want to claim as your own work.

Taking the seats out yourself really isn't going to lower the price enough to worry about.
