First, before a sea of flame comes down on you. This has been discussed multiple times, there is a search button in the top right corner. There is a thread like this every week.

My opinion on intakes. I belive its worth it. Why? The main reason is the sound! I hava a K&N typhoon I picked up on ebay for 150$ and at 4000 rpm it sounds insane! For HP gain and fuel economy, it is there. The difference is not incredible but I can assure you that it is there. Before my intake, my friend civic and I were equal as far as acceleration goes. Now I'm slightly faster than he is.
Some people say its all in your head. But there is nothing wrong with my head and I'm happy I bought it.

Now, will it be worth it? Only you can answer that.

Oh, and for what intake to get? There all the same CAI, SRI and DIY. The sound might be different but as far as performance goes there is no difference.
Altough, since the CAI usually hangs pretty low, snow might get on the filter and thats not really cool but most CAIs can be seperated in two halves. So you can have your filter inside the engine bay in the winter and somewhere else in the summer. Also, CAIs tend to be more expensive than SRI.

Most people will suggest just getting a Mass Airflow Sensor adapter plate and a K&N filter but I'm a brand *****.

I hope I helped...

Have fun

I want a K&N replacement filter, it's easier to install and no problem with warranty.

I agree it sounds cool!

As for warranty... Unless the aftermarket part causes the problem you warranty will be just fine (its the law). I also kept all of my old parts.

Does it make it faster? There is a change in acceleration (it revs faster), but it is only a bolt-on (but I think its worth it). Tuning the ECU will give you even better results (not stellar, but better).

<waiting for lightning strike>

Remember though, the more surface area the filter has the lower the restriction (through the filter). Look for the filters that have the center filtration area as well as the outer.

ok sounds good. this will be my first semi major mod since buying my oz almost 2 months ago. i installed the kartboy shifter base and linkage bushings but i don't compare that to the intake. can't wait to start my journey of mods, as this will be my first car that i've played with as well. =]
