I don't think anyone has figured it out yet... if you search these forums you'll see that there is a nice LONG discussion on this topic.

It is pointless and unsafe to have video playing while you are driving.

For the sake of the other drivers on the road, don't do this.

Driving is boring. It would be much better if i could watch tv at the same time.

Lol, just kidding. People wreck cars because of this, even though mine plays while i drive. But i dont watch it.

Its possible, you just gotta know the right people. If I had some time with the new lancers I could probably figure it out, but usually it's tied into the VSS wire now days, instead of a gear indicator switch. Very true with fords as well. But untill we can test it... it's all speculation.

Though, IMO, if you want video for your kids to watch, install a monitor in the backseat for them so it's not a distraction for the driver.

We have discussed this LONG before. It is possible to do video while driving, but you have to cut the VSS wire, AND the GPS antenna wire. So not only is it a PITA, but you are also looking at voiding your warranty, AND damaging wires. I am really interested (or not interested) to hear what this eBay seller is claiming....

That's exactly it, you need to cut the VSS wire AND the GPS antenna. I did this in my car (the kids love it) but I am a professional and have all the right tools. Without the exact proper tools you WILL loose signal on your GPS antenna and have to replace it. just a warning.

so what are the proper tools? Do a How To on this. Or at the least discuss cutting the GPS cable and how you put a switch in.
