Resell Value?

Has anyone tried to resell their Lancer GTS yet?

I was possibly looking to sell mine with the S&S and Navi/Tech Package, How much do you all think i could get for it being a year old with 10k miles and maintained very well. It just needs a good bath and a wax

Let me know what numbers you all figure, gotta see what the chances of me getting a G8 GT or GXP is (yeah its australlian, wah evah!)

Dealership offered 16k for a 08 GTS with CVT navi/tech and sun/sound package. I paid a little under 23k for it. The $7k loss in resell value is $2k greater than adding a turbo to my car lol. Oh and I got my car and August and have 3,411 miles on it. No scratches or dings, looks brand new on the inside and outside. No mods done to it yet and every sticker that came on the car the day i got it is still there (Besides the window sticker which is in my glove box.) Maybe I would have better luck selling it privately, but I can't find anyone that wants to buy a used 08. Color is electric blue.

^^ that will come down now that all the 2008 GT-S's are a one off production year. If you find the right person they may pay MORE because it shared the same engine with the Evo.

However to the average person they wont see the advantage of getting yours over a new 2.4L

Sucks to hear but unless you put 4 or 5 grand down you are waiting 3 or 4 years to be close to even on value

^It's not the same engine as the evo, it just shares a similar name and block. And you can still get the 4B11 on the DE and ES models. The main reason I want to turbo this car is because it will end up being cheaper than trading it in and getting a ralliart, MS3, or Evo. If I spend $7-$9k on performance parts for this car, I think it could be faster than a stock ralliart, but not by much. ($16k trade-in value (probably less soon) plus $9k = $25k which should be about the cost of a new ralliart without the navi/tech and s+s packages)

^^ yeah sorry I dont want to get into this argument again. I meant it is closer to the evo engine than the 4B12 will be (good bragging rights for high schoolers).

I am in this same predicament too, looks like the wife will get my ES and I'll get the Ralliart in a few years

I had someone willing to pay 25000 for my 08 GTS CVT S&S (no nav here in Canada) with 17000kms. Sticker was 26290 or something. It really depends on the person, you may find someone who's a bit slow lol.

Huh, i should look for a canadian buyer and drive it up to them with the awesome nav and music server package mine has :P i only paid 24,000 for mine but because of some moron messing up the loan in the past year ive only paid off about a grand of it, still owe 22-23k :/ so at this point i highly doubt ill be able to get anything for it, im hoping 20k atleast, but then again it was in an accident and had its entire door replaced and front panel and it has a nice ding that some jackass with their door slammed into the top of the wheel well that just needs to be popped out.

Even with those fixed would the History of accidents/damage reduce the value even if they are just cosmetic and replaced?

YES! terribly. I wouldn't even look at a car that I know has been in an accident/repainted. That's horrible.

To agree with GeeTeeEss, yes it would affect it.

Wouldn't YOU pay less for a car that had been damaged? You can make the car look nice, but chances are that it'll still be bent in some places you can't reach/see. And that can effect the handling and such long-term.
