Cluster

I own an 02 lancer es and want to change up the interior a bit. The first thing I want to do is switch out my cluster for an OZ Rally gauge cluster but I'm not sure. I drive a manual.. my question is can I buy a cluster from an automatic oz rally and have it function the same in my manual transmission (ie. my car has no cruise control)

Thanks for the help. I tried a search but it didn't come up with anything addressing my question.

You can swap your cluster, but i would prefer you getting a manual cluster instead of a auto. You can try asking around. I'm pretty sure someone has cover this in the how to do section. i think thats it right there. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=66953

i know how to remove and replace it (i've changed the gauge/dash lighting using lightrikz), but my question is can an automatic cluster work in a manual?

I don't see why not; the only difference i could foresee is the cruise control light since a manual obviously doesn't have this feature.

yeah i was about to say....manual lancers have cruise control...mine has it. And wouldn't a automatic cluster have like P,R,N,D,1,2,3 ?? I would think a automatic cluster would work....but i think i read somewhere that when someone did a tranny swap from a auto too a manual the speedometer wouldn't work.

The speedometer wouldn't work after he did his swap because an auto trans has an output shaft speed sensor and a manual trans has a vehicle speed sensor. He had to change the wiring to the sensors so that it was hooked up correctly. The signals coming into the cluster are the same for both auto and manual Lancers. Where each of the signals come from is the only difference.

So to put an auto cluster into a manual tranny, you would have to do the same thing?

No. You don't need to do anything other than swap out the cluster, like I stated above.

I'm not aware of any sort of "shift light" in the Lancer clusters. Can anyone clarify this or can you elaborate on this?

I've never heard of a shift light. Maybe this was something that never was utilized in the states?

what kind/model of 06 lancer do you drive? i would say in some places our lancers are very differently made and come equipped with things the US market does not offer.
