I am trying to help out a friend of mine. He has the Lancer GTS with the SSL package and is looking to replace his seats with cloth or leather. He has some tears in the rear seats, and just wants to go ahead and get all new seats. Now on to my reason for making a thread about this. I have been looking around, and having no luck in finding a website for OEM style seats. Does anyone know some good places to look? Thanks for all your help guys

 

if there are just some tears then the seat itself should be fine. i would personally take it to the dealer or some place that does leather seats and just have them recovered in leather. i don't think we have any exact replacements for our cars, especially for the rear seats.

 

Any idea on the cost of having the seats re-covered? I checked on having my Recaros done, and came out cheaper buying new seats.

 

i would guess around $1000 but i have no idea, thats just what the dealer told me a while ago to have them cover the seats, one thing im not sure about is how that works with the airbags that are in the seats, if they need to do something special so the airbags still work and your seats just dont explode when they go off, haha.

 

LOL, yea that would suck for the seat to just explode. I will let him know about the pricing, he may just go aftermarket. In that case, do you know anywhere that would have aftermarket seats?

 

do they make seat lowering brackets for the gts?

 

if you go aftermarket, expect an airbag warning up all the time.
