Anyone know of a Roof Rack for snowboards that fit's the 08 Lancer?
Thule and Yakima don't have anything on there sites.

 

I just put down one of the back seats to fit my snowboard.

Able to bring 3 other passengers along with their snowboards by doing it this way.

 

Ya, i did that last year. Was hoping to get some room by throwing the boards on the roof. Worst comes to worst I'll leave my little brother home lol

I have some they took my windsurf board and kit no problem, then roll up in a 'shoe-box' sized box.

I'm looking for a roof rack myself. Been stuck in more than a handful of situations this winter season with not enough cargo room..grrrrr.....
You guys think these applications, specific for the evo x, will work on our cars? I don't see why not, since I don't think we have different roofs...

It's possible that they could fit. You will probably need a different bar because the width of the 2 cars is a little different. If it works out, let us know.

 

Well I got an official response from Yakima regarding the EVO vs GTS (and other models) roof rack system.

Thank you for contacting Yakima Customer Support.

The Lancer GTS does not have a fit yet, because the Yakima Fit team has not seen this vehicle to determine if the roof is indeed identical to the Evolution. Therefore, I don't know if the same rack system recommended for the Evolution would work on the GTS. If you were to install this system on the GTS, it would not be covered under Yakima's warranty. You might look into custom installation, or check back with us to see if our fit team has called out a fit for your vehicle. You can check for updates on our website under the "Fit My Car" tab.

No warranty eh? Hmm...that sucks and a custom rack would cost too much...

 

not to mention that a custom rack means drilling into your roof. I'm not up for that
