I went to the dealer and had it programmed. Cost $100 in Winnipeg and I got a car wash out of the deal. The total install including used condenser and lines ($175), installation (did myself in an hour),pressure test, vacuum and charge ($125), and programming at the dealer $100. The total install cost was only $400.

I sold my shop queen MK5 Jetta and got a loan (on top of a similar ammount of debt) and bought a Lancer DE. I figured any car built after 1990 had AC. Air conditioning delete on any car less than 20 years old is ridiculous. A Lancer isn't a fleet car like an HHR or a Transit Connect. I could understand something like a mail truck not having AC but this is a passenger car people pay good money for and Virginia isn't far enough north for AC to never be needed. I feel like an absolute fool for buying it. It's kind of depressing sometimes. Please DON'T BUY THIS CAR if you value air conditioning even slightly. If you've already bought it just get the AC kit and have Mitsubishi install it. don't waste thousands of dollars on rentals, & different repair shops telling you it will be done in a couple days just so that you find out that it's not done.

 

Do you know what is the software (apps) to program the A/C?
i'm planning to install the A/C on my 2011 lancer DE and don't find anything on that..
