Oil Pan Plug

Has anyone had their Oil Pan Plug fall out while driving...? It happened to me, no one touches my Lancer other then the dealer. They were the one who did my last oil change. They didn't install the plug correctly... They aren't taking responsibility for the mistake. I had to pay a different dealer 4k to replace the engine, because it seized 30secs after the oil light displayed... I'm forced in to take the dealer to small claims court... Does anyone have any advise or a similar situation...?

It is not just the dealerships that do a shoddy job.

My friend took his 350z to a tire shop and they plugged a tire for him. They also cross rotated the tires. Do I need to mention this car has a staggered set up???

Also one of the wheels weren't torqued so it rolled off as he was driving...

haha wow man that really sucks!!! I got a free oil change coupon from mitsu so I took advantage of it one day. When I got the car back, they said that whoever did the last oil change (me) over-tightened the drain plug and cross threaded it and the oil pan a little too. They replaced the plug, but they recommended a new oil pan for me...241 bucks! as long as its not leaking, im good though

It sounds like the dealer in Vancouver forgot to put oil in his GTS. My buddy is a mechanic and he said u would be surprised how many times shops either don't put the plug in right or the forget to put oil in.

My other buddy has an 08 Mustang Shelby GT500 and took it in and got new rims etc put on, When he was driving home doing 120 km/h, his front wheel came off and did 12k worth of damages to his car and the shop tried to blame it on him for not checking the lugs to make sure they were tight before he drove off.

Take all paper work of what was done and the receipt if you still have it to court. They will want to know what service was done, and I would also think about getting a subpeona for the mechanic that did the service. Put his *** on the line, and make him tell the court that your car was normal prior to this service. Dot your I's and cross your T's. Good luck

I didn't go to court, just went to the dealer and spoke to the president. I settled on half the total cost. I will never go back to County Line Mitsubishi in Middlebury CT, or buy another Mitsu ever again. I don't wish this on even my worst enemy, it was taxing to say the least...
