Question chip in my car?

i drive a 2009 lancer GTS. i was told by the dealership that there is a chip in my car that the dealership can scan to see how i drove so they can void my warranty if i didnt drive the car "normaly" . is this true?

Hmm. What dealership told you that? I've never heard that before. I don't see why they should care how you drive it..

probably just tryin to get you to admit to somethin so they can void your warrenty. ask to speak with the maintenance supervisor or manager.

The Nissan Skyline has one of those...but I've never heard of it on the Lancer before. I call shenanigans!

i do believe info is stored on the lancer about certain specifications.... aka. they have stock data and then they comare it to yours and if yours is different they might say hey yours is different for whatever reason and void your warranty....

it sounds complicated but i dont know how to explain it.

ya...all that data that is being stored, is most likely not stored for the life of the car. more like it holds data on the past 3hrs of driving, and then as new data comes in the old goes out. if you have a navi u can see what im talkin about in the environment menus.
