your car looks clean under the hood. i like the header look even if they dont help power that much. ill order a set of the ebay headers and try it out. i have the JDM N1 cat-back exhaust coming tomorrow morning, so 1 project at a time.

 

sorry to bring up an old thread but would that ebay header hit the 04-06 model ES?

 

It will work the exact same man. The one I got that I posted on here will work on your car. Any 02-06 lancer 4g94 header will work for your car.

ebay headers cracked on my friends evo after a year...

 

Ha that's funny cause an Evo doesn't have a header....Just saying....And a Lancer is FAR from an Evo...I would never put cheap Ebay parts on an Evo. Also I had a $300 name brand header and it cracked...my $115 Ebay header has been great so far.

 

right. manifold the mighty evo has. and why would u spend $300 for a name brand header for a lancer?

 

I didn't...It was givin to me for free from a guy who sold his Lancer, and it was only on his car for 1 year.

I hate to bump an old topic, but I just ordered one of these. I was wondering why there's two pieces? What is that long straight pipe?

 

the long pc is a downpipe with a flex pipe built into it. the stock downpipe is flatter and restricts airflow

 

i have rrm header highflow cat and piggyback(piggyback for manual only) $250 plus shipping

no i don't think that it eliminates the 2nd cat. i don't see an o2 bung in the downpipe in the photo. the header will eliminate the pre-cat which is mounted in the stock header. so you will have to come up with a cel eliminator so you don't throw a p0420 code. usually 2 anti foulers will do the trick. you drill one out with a 1/2 inch drill bit so your o2 sensor will fit into it then u screw the other one on the end of o2 sensor and anti fouler and screw that into your cat. only drill out the first one. leave a small hole in the 2nd one so your voltage will drop enough

 

Hm I wonder if it's for sure that these headers will even throw a p0420. None the less; would getting a cel eliminator be the easiest way to prevent a p0420? Because the ebay headers I got have 3 O2 Sensor holes. I assume 2 are on the downpipe, and one is on the header itself. Wonder how many O2 sensors a 04 lancer es has...
