I need help I bout my oz rally about a little over a month ago and i dont know where to start. I noticed that my clutch may be going out. I think.....anyways it is really hard to get into reverse and doesnt like to downshift into second. So I am pretty sure it is the clutch. But i dont know what i am doing or what I should buy. I would like to put it in myself but to be honest i really dont know what i am doing (kinda helped to put a clutch in on a subaru) i just dont want to have to fork out the money for some one to put it in. So if any one has any suggestions please let me know. i need all the help i can get with a car i have never worked on before.

 

Check the motor mount bushings first before you worry about the clutch. They could be worn out which will cause issues with shifting, especially with reverse.

 

Check and possibly flush your clutch fluid it could be low, old or have some air in the lines. Also It could be your sychros. Second gear is considered "home" for your sychros meaning they all realign when put into second gear and if they start to go then second gear will start to have issues first. But definately check that fluid first.
