buying a 2012 DE with higher mileage, or 2009 with lower?
Hi all,
Currently have a 2008 civic. Love the look of the Lancer and generally regard them as reliable.
I'm selling my civic, simply because it's manual and my wife won't drive it. With a 3rd kid now that complicates things when I occasionally need the van.
I commute about 60 km each way, all highway, 3-4 times a week (carpool so some days I only drive a few km to the carpool lot).
So looking at some lancers, 2009 or newer. For around the same price, I see 2009-2010's with maybe 150,000-175,000km, or a few 2012's with 200,000-220,000km.
First, any thoughts on what I'd be better off with? Older with less KM, or newer with more?
Second, any major concerns with buying one of these? I see some lancers up well over 300,000km, so not overly concerned getting one at 200,000, but should I be?
Just plan on keeping it for a few years until I get get a used electric with the range needed for my commute.
Thanks for any input.

Low mileage is better but it also depends on the condition of the car. Even a car with more than 300k mileage in good condition can be better than low a mileage car with several issue: worn out suspension, oil leaks, etc
Check for unusual noise on the engine and the servicing history of the car
