Just got my first Lancer, 04 ES with 171K. Drove it home and it ran and felt great, but the fuel level was all over the place. It started showing 3/4 and I thought, sweet he left me a bunch of gas. About 10 miles down the highway, it was showing E, and still going down slowly. Pulled off and filled up in a slight panic and it took 7.8Gal. I figure it is dirty contacts or a malfunctioning float, I am just wondering how to get to it. Is it one where you get to it from the trunk or do you have to drop the tank?
