Question Advice on Stereo replacement

Hi!

I am on a mission to exchange the stock radio/cd unit (non premium) and I have ordered some stuff I'm pretty sure will work.
However I have a eerie feeling that I will need some kind of adapters or such for everything to work.

Here are the stuff:

The fascia. I have a left hand drive ralliart but it looks completely centered so this uk right hand one should work.
MITSUBISHI EVO Double Din Fascia Fitting Kit CT23MT05 ->

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The DVD/etc touchscreen stereo player
XTRONS TD712 Motorized Car DVD Player Bluetooth 3D Menu ->

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The reversing camera
CAR REAR VIEW REVERSING WATERPROOF NIGHT VISION CAMERA

I'm wondering about the connections. Will I need an adapter to connect the new stereo unit?
Also, in the stereo description it says theres an steering wheel connection aswell so I can change tunes as on the old stereo. This is something I REALLY, REALLY want to get working. Do I need anything to get it to work properly?

With an aftermarket mp3/ navi double din unit, the controls on your steering wheel will not work any longer. You will need an adapter wiring harness to plug into the new head unit and the cars factory receiving harness.

Thanks for the reply.

theres some wires in different colors for steering wheel controls but without a harness on the aftermarket stereo. Maybe i can just connect them to the factory wires with the same colors?

And I don't need some ISO adapter to connect the aftermarket one? I have the 2010 ralliart with standard cd/radio and speakers.

Ok!

I've installed the double din touchscreen stereo and everything works perfectly except for one thing after I spent Alot of hours trying to find out what color wires goes into what.

I didn't find any iso harness adapter to my 2010 ralliart so I had to connect the wires manually which was a pain.

One thing doesn't work and that's my front left speaker. All the other 3 works perfectly but can't get life in the front left one.
I tried connecting it to the same wires as the back left speaker but I still didn't get sound from it and the three others sounded.

I'm beginning to think there's some error with the front left speaker wires but now I've reassembled everything and I don't feel like ripping stuff apart again if I'm not certain that I can fix it.

I guess I can't take it in to service cause I've installed a aftermarket stereo myself and I'm probably the one to blame for the speaker error.

Any advice is appreciated!

It's 50-50 shot... problem could be behind the radio where you were wiring... or the problem could be at the speaker in the door. It could be blown or loose connection. Depending on what is easier for you to do, take apart what you've done and do a continuity test from behind the deck to the speaker in the door OR take the door off and swap the speaker with a test speaker to see if that works and that will tell you if it's the line to the speaker or the speaker itself.

Also, if you have the sun and sound package there is an amp under the seat, so you would have to do continuity test from the deck to the amp and then from the amp to the speaker. Not sure if you have it though.

If you can't figure it out... take it to a professional... don't hack your stuff.

Hope this helps,

well its too late now to do it the right way, which is to buy an actual wiring harness that just plugs into your factory harness, which are available anywhere....... my advice is cut every wire and start from scratch again.

I asked around here in Stockholm but didn't get lucky with finding the correct harness and the ones on e-bay stated another model year of the lancer.

Anyway, I took it to a proffesional to clean up my mess and now it works perfectly.
I think I will exchange the fascia in the future. This one got a quite visible gap in it. Not à 100% fit.

-edit-

ordered one of those sco-something fascias from the states. Looks much more rigid! Offcourse the harness is included... Too late now for me. Hoping the customs charge wont be too high.
