Basically everything is black and gray on the exterior of the car. For the engine I have a Kamikaze header hi-temp black coated coming in. I wanted to paint the valve cover to give the engine alittle life...so I thought maybe if I got the PDX suspension set in blue, I could paint the valve cover blue to so it would match. Then get the blue hose kit from RRM and then maybe just touch up some parts of the engine blue. That way the engine can match.

sorry dude, i double checked with a fabricator and machinist (they know metal). its def. steel, i'd bet my lancer on it

tward is right, do the magnet test........or a displacement test..........hell, scrape off the paint and try to scratch it with something that could scratch aluminum.

also, notice the spot welds on the sides that hold the inner piece to the outer? dead giveaway its steel, you just can't do spot welds like that on aluminum

as for the color, i think a glossy black woud look sick

Well it looks like either this weekend or next I'll be painting my valve cover. Any last minute heads up or tips before I paint this thing?

i think you should go with blue. it will compliment the grey and black you already have. good luck with it and hit us up with some pics of the finished product.

Already have the Blue Dupli-Color Metalcast at my house. Using same stuff Rob uses to paint the suspension bars. Once they come in next week it'll all look great together.

Sorry everyone I didn't get a chance to take pics. The valve cover came out great. Not hard at all to take off. As soon as I can get pictures I'll post.

That's one of the best I've seen... I think I might do the same. I'm going for a red black color scheme in my engine bay as well.
