carbon fiber is one of the lightest and strongest materials out there for car products. But as with anything it will crack and break if you put enough tension or pressure on it. With screwing a screw to tight it will push farther into the hole than it's supposed to and if the hole isnt tapped far enough it will make it's own space and that will make things expand and in your case crack!

 

if u are worried about warrenties that much then dont touch your car. I dont worry about warrenties cause if something breaks i know if can fix it myself...I dont need some overpriced dealership to fix my car. But if u are going to wait till 30,000 miles to do a mod, then I cant wait to see the car in a few years...

also dont get that stupid tip...just my .02 cents

thats probably one of the sickest looking lancers i am have seen... i was wondering what kind of exhaust you have on it...and about how much you got it for. i just ordered the aem cai. and i just started seriously lookin for an exhaust. i found only one place that even carries the greddy exhaust...and its alittle over the top. any suggestions???

ohh yea one other thing...ill be out in nor cal...about 45 min above SF you know of any meets goin on i might be able to go to and get some input, thanks

as for exhaust goes, i have a Magnaflow street series muffler and polished resonator on my car. Its sounds good and looks even better. I am partial to Magnaflow cause i know lots of people that work there and i do some work there too, also they are one of my sponsors...but if you want help picking out a muffler let me know and i can put u in contact with one of my friends there and he can set u up with something sick.

also Magnaflow is in the process of doing a catback for the Lancer, so if u feel like waiting for that then i would if i were you. I am going to get it as soon as i can get my hands on it!

you only have the muffler...see i want to get a new muffler as well as new piping back to the cat. i am pretty new to the import car scene...i havent heard of a polished resonator...i now it has something to do with the inside of the muffler

no, the resonator has nothing to do with the inside of the muffler. If you go and look under your car and look at the exhaust system you will notice your muffler, the big oval can by your bumper, then the pipe will move over your sway bar, dumb location, and then straighten out under the car. The next thing you will see is a muffler look a like in line with exhaust pipe. That is your resonator. I had mine replaced with a higher flowing one and it's polish for looks. I also had all my piping mandrel bent at 2 1/4" to open the flow some more for the turbo.

If you can wait another month or so, then i would wait for the Magnaflow catback. Once it's out everyone will be surprised with it!

 

Thank all for the info...but really all i need to know is if anything has gone wrong yet...all i need to know....warrenties don't matter to me cause i can fix almost anything that can break and if i can't i will go to my Wideopenmotorsports place and see if they will. Warrenties only bother my parents...thats it. Thanks anyways. Have you checked out veilside Evo lancer kits. I might get one in a few years once i get that type of money...just a little customizing to fit it on the US lancer but hey...its veilside and its worth it.

Is that 200whp or crank? Im ashamed of you is that isnt whp after all that money spent Take it to the track and get some ETA's man.....That is one nice looking car. What turbo do you plan on going with?

 

yes i am hoping to the wheels...considering the Lancer is around 120 to the crank off the lot, an added 100hp to my car is doing fine, but with the T28 garrett i want to get, i am hoping more...plus i am going to be getting a direct port system from Nitrous Express, so we'll see...

i wont be going to the track till i am done with the engine!

 

So are you going with the Big 28 thats what i got, or the small. And by the way how much boost are you running. Ive got my Hal mans set to 15 and that sucker holds all the way to red line 7500. Not too bad for a trick mamma in the shell of a t25.

 

yeah im going with the BIG T28...only way to go...

as far as boost right now i am running 6psi, but i am going up to 8 or 9 this month, when i get the free chance to do it!
