If you've ever seen a rally, the rims are usually messed up after a single race, bent, scratched, etc.. Now imagine what would happen if you hit a pothole, curb, whatever, your rim would look exactly the same. These aren't cheap rims either, its not like you can go to autozone and pick up a 4 pack for 20$. They use em in rally because they're light, they have minimal unsprung weight and the idea of carrying a spare isn't a huge deal.

edit: I'm sure they could get the 4 bolt pattern if you ask. Yes, those are made for rallying. It protects from huge rocks, gravel, etc.. ugly, but rally practical.
