painting headers
long story short, my kamikaze header is all scratched to hell from moving since i was never able to get it installed. what are my options at this point to make it look pretty?
...and by pretty, i mean a very manly pretty.

I took it upon myself to paint my kamikaze header before I installed it. I used 1200degree high heat engine paint and the header was a very nice gloss black. After i installed the header and the turned the car to let the ecu adjust to the header, my engine bay began to smoke. The paint, which had been on the header for a few weeks, began to chip off as soon as i turned the car on. The paint didn't even last 10minutes. My advice, don't do it, it's a waste of time.

wow, i thought 1200 degree paint would have held up
i think the only real alternative is to send it off to get ceramic coated by jet hot or swain or performance coatings.
