I use Maguire’s quick detailer. It works really well especially if the car was just waxed or washed before it rained. Just be sure there is not much dirt or grit on the paint. Just spray it on and wipe it off. You can do the entire car in less than ten minutes.

Not trying to jack your thread or anything, but what products would ya'll recommend for water spots on the windows. That's my only problem with water spots (having a sliver Lancer). I don't have tinted windows, yet. But I've tried amoenia-free windex, invisible shield, etc. But nothing has seemed to do a bit of good. Any success stories or recommendations... Plan on getting these windows in pristine condition before the tint is applied. Thanks.

they're talking about the clay bar stuff you can pick up at autozone. It gets rid of dirt and other stuff off of the car without harming the paint

tint is on the inside of your window(hopefully), and the waterspots are on the outside(hopefully), so it should be fine.

I don't know about prevent totally.. there will always be the marks where dust settled in the little drops of water and dries, or minerals leave marks. (or acid rain). But to prevent rainspots, after it gets done raining, go out with a shammy cloth and get all the water off your car. Thats what I usually do if I don't want spots. (if I just washed my car) But if its dirty and it rains, I usually wash it the next day. But I notice a nice coat of polishing wax does help from it actually making marks in the clear coat.

you also have to realize some places have different type of water

for example where im orig from the water was "hard" and even if you had just washed your car and let the water dry it would spot up but where im at now the car could be dirty as hell and if it rains (which it always does) you can let it air dry and no spots because the water is "softer"

point is, just wash and wax regularly and your paint will be fine

I use Meguires quik detailer and it works really well if you want to just do a quik wipedown after a rain or something
