as a proud Ralliart grille owner, i second the idea of your getting one...if it's your kinda thing. i ebayed mine for around $160something as well (from Japanparts.com) and it is worth every penny!

you could paint the stock one instead of spending the money for a new one. but if you really want one go to japanparts.com, email them and ask for a jdm lancer cedia ralliart grille (it should be 170 shipped and its already painted), or you can search on ebay for lancer cedia, they list them on there for same price quite often.

 

The problem most have with that is... Even though it is painted and no longer defined with chrome, it is still the ugly thong grille . I honestly don't know what the guys at Mitsubishi were thinking when they designed the grille, it does absolutely nothing for the overall impression your car makes on people. It just makes the car look cheap IMO . I like the look of the RalliArt grille because it matches the overall look of the car and I think compliaments its herritage.

it may still be the "thong grille," but is no longer outlined in two contrasting colors to give such a noticeable thong style. i really could care less about the impression that my car makes on others, i like it, but if you're really that desparate to impress others then buy the ralliart grille. i plan on buying the ralliart grill, i just painted mine as a temporary fix. pm 02izzel, hes selling his thunder grey ralliart grill for 135 shipped.

 

i have a KEN style grill painted silver that i dont mind getting rid of. I picked up c/f hood and i like that grill better. PM me if you want some pics and make arrangments.


Also, just cause we don't have a lot of posts shouldn't mean we are newbs. can't there be an entrance exam that we can take, and based on our answers give us "evolved" status!! LOL

I agree, IMHO the ralliart grille is one of the best enhancements that can be made to the US Lancer. Although, I find it a little strange that the mesh inside the ralliart grille is a perfect match to the mesh found in my stock bumper...it kind of seems that made the ugly thong grille as a cheap afterthought

 

i got the import trenz evo vii grill and it came with a new hood and bumper

Hmmm...... I don't care what others think either.... In any situation for that matter, car or not. I have never done anything to a car that I didn't first like myself and I have been the first to try many things on many cars and trucks. Don't take a shot at someone who is just posting an opinion. My opinion is...... I love my ralliart grille, and I HATE the ugly stock grille chrome or not (MEANING: painted stock grilles look like $&%+ to me - - Sorry, it is just my opinion). So don't say my opinion means I am "desparate to impress others". What is meant by "the impression the car makes" is that it just flows better with the shape of the car... It is all about how I see the car in the first place, and then the compliaments that people give are just a bonus. (So I have good taste, I'm sorry!) My car is what I want it to be disreguarding what anyone else thinks is cool. So go pick fights elsewhere.
