The ONLY complaint I have on this is that I, too, am a Newbie, but that's because I have never heard of this site until I started working with a friend with a DSM. Honestly, there are newbies who know more than some evolved members, vice versa...I have the degree to back me up, though. Anywho...that's the ONLY complaint.

 

U already let him know, I did it myself. If there was no sunroof i would have put black headliner, but with the sun roof, i just decided to, "paint" or, dye it black...
its actually a bia to get that sunroof out so i masked it, sprayed white primer for the yellow, unmasked, sprayed yellow, and then masked over the yellow and sprayed black, all while this was in the car... not a drop of overspray on any visible piece. I did miss a spot, but idk if imma touch it up or not. its in a real tight space, and would require alot of masking... so i will prolly get to it when i get my car back from the painter.

Now when i go to modify imma go to the "evo" look or as u siad "evo out my lancer". why am i doing this, B/C ain't no way in Fu<k imma "Mustang out my lancer", or "supra TT out my lancer" so stfu and get the fu<k outta this thread. People go for the evo look b/c thats where the car is based closest too. Not to any other car ( mirage maybe... ) but still.

I agree...Recaro seats and a momo wheel are decent...who cares if what you have is thought of as ugly by one person? Many others will like it.

the lancer is based on the evo? they watered the lancer down because a lot of people can,t afford the evo, like you and me. a lot of people "EVO OUT THIER LANCERS" because they have little pipe dreams about owning an evo. So stop giving me this crap about what car is based on what because it doesn't really matter, you have a lancer that looks like an evo, so your lancer is a little wanna be evo. Do you get it now? give it up. No one whats to focus out the lancer. The "evo" evolved from the lancer, do u get that ****? that is why many take the road to do the evo conversion. Call it a wanna be evo, but i rather be that than some Wanna be type r or cobra? ya get my drift? My lancer is no evo, but its my car. I choose what gets done to it, i decide how it looks and drives. The evo is the only correct conversion for the lancer. NO other conversion is for a lancer, what should we do, silvia conversion on the lancer? 'lac conversion of the lancer? just stfu. u need to realize we know its no evo. but its what we got to do it with. and by the way, they didn't water down the evo to make a lancer, they took a lancer and made it go thru evolution. So go F*** Urself.

I looked at UTI, my aunts live around the area, schaumburg, elk grove and glendale i just couldn't think of the name glendale... I actually ended up choosing Ohio Tech.

 

Any tech school is better than trying to work at a dealer and learning everything, because you never truly learn it all. I will say this much...when you start working in a dealer you learn it's far different, though.

 

hey marlboroman, u cant go with any other look with the lancer. Any kit u buy makes it look like a frekin evo. So what would u expect them to do not enhance the looks of their vehicles? I just dont understand ur angle on this. The ONLY thing that is available is to make ur lancer look like an evo, soooo.....

 

there are several kits out there that dont make it look like an evo, such as the ken and kaminari there are others that arent widely used, but most of the kits arent the evo7 conversion. personally, i think that kits in no way enhance the look of a vehicle, if you want enhancement, get a lip. there are plenty of alternatives to the evo conversions, it just depends on your preferences.

Those are my old ones, I repainted my interior with Subaru Blue Effect (a bit darker and has more shine) to match my rear enlosure color. Really cool when it get shine, turn kinda purplish...
